Goodbye, Augusta!

I’m happy to announce that I have taken a Monday through Friday Anchor position at our sister station, KETK-TV, in Tyler, Texas. It’s a great opportunity and I’m excited about making this next step in my career. This is also a sad time for me though, as it means I’m leaving Augusta.

I’ve been here for more than five years. I came to WJBF NewsChannel 6 in June 2012 as a Reporter. Two years in, I started anchoring. It was a promotion that I wasn’t really expecting, but now, I wouldn’t want it any other way. WJBF has been amazing to me during my time here. Everyone at the station is truly family now. I’ve had ups and downs in my career and in my personal life, but the staff has always supported me. I can’t thank them enough for that.

When I first got to Augusta, I figured I would stay here a year and move on to a bigger market, but I fell in love with this city and the people here. To the viewers of WJBF, thank you for kindly letting me into your homes at 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. I hope you enjoyed the newscasts as much as I enjoyed putting them together and giving you the news. Not everyone gets to have a career that they love, but for me, working at WJBF has been a dream come true.

So this is a goodbye, for now. I will be back though! I have friends in Augusta and my family lives in the Atlanta area. I’m also planning to come back for the Masters Tournament in 2018.

Thank you so much, Augusta and the CSRA! The last five years have been a pleasure.
